COLERAIN OHIO HOME OF THE CARDINALS
Colerain Township Ohio is a beautiful community, and a wonderful place to call home with a great history.
Colerain Township was first settled in 1790 by the surveyor named John Dunlap. He actually named the area after where he was from in Coleraine Ireland. The settlement he created was called Fort Coleraine. I was located on the bend of the Miami river several miles just below the Bridge to Ross in Ohio. In 1794 Coleraine was finally established as a Township and the e at the end of the name with the Irish spelling was dropped to be now called just Colerain Township. Today Colerain is the second largest township in Ohio with over 42 square miles.
